Laura

Hydrotherapy Consultant

I have worked at paws to splash on and off for over 2 years and became full time in 2013.
I come from a very animal related background as I worked in a veterinary practice doing vet nursing for 4 years before moving to paws to splash.
I also have a national diploma in animal management, completed at Newton Rigg College. I find my background very beneficial as I understand the seriousness of the injuries that are brought to me and use techniques that are relevant to the injury to see improvement.
I absolutely love the job and get great satisfaction from helping dogs to improve their health, lifestyle and well being through the use of hydrotherapy.
I also love to see owners happy that I am making a difference to there pets life.

The Pool

The hydrotherapy pool was newly built in 2006. The pool size is 5 metres in length by 3 metres in width by 1.2 metres in depth. The pool is fitted with jets to provide variable swim resistance and massage. Dogs can enter the heated water by walking down non-slip shallow steps, specially designed to allow stress-free access for all breeds and sizes. The temperature of the water is typically a warm 29 degrees Celsius. Chlorine levels are monitored at regular intervals to ensure the swimming facilities are of the highest resistance to bacteria. In the interest of pool hygiene and your pet's comfort, your dog will be showered both prior and post all swimming sessions. Drying and grooming facilities are available.
